In December of 2017, I began to explore ways to add more helpful content to my recipe blog. I had started to become a bit more interested in the mother sauces and decided that, given their importance to the foundations of cooking, a feature on the 5 mother sauces would be a great place to start. I worked with an illustrator and an award-winning food writer to create a feature that is easy and fun to read. Each mother sauce has a recipe for the sauce as well as a full recipe that utilizes the sauce. My personal favorite is the Harissa Mac 'n Cheese!
