I was hired by Taste Cooking Magazine to cook, style, and photograph chocolate mousse for their feature about the fluffy, decadent dessert. I worked closely with the art director to ensure that I was sourcing the right props to attain the look they were going for. I ended up shooting on a marble table and used modern flatware from ABC Home along with delicate, contemporary dessert glasses from Malfatti Glassware. Everything was shot in natural light and I used the brandy bottle to create beautiful red-hued shadows on the marble along with cool-gray mixing bowls to create a warm, clean, modern vignette. Each step of the process was styled as shown below.
